A little Celtics Lakers /past becomes the present....

First off a big shout out to Ray Allen!  He became the all-time 3 point leader in the NBA tonite... Celtics lost the game but it was a huge nite for Ray... Its funny how Ive really come back to be a NBA fan again over the last 5 or 6 years. I was into it big time in the 80s.. My grandfather and I were big Celtic fans and used to watch Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, Rober Parish and the rest play the Lakers... Things change but somehow they stay the same... NBA was awesome back then.. Bird, Magic, Kareem, Dr. J, Isiah, Dominique, and of course Michael Jordan.. The game was always fun to watch. I had some great memories of those games. My grandfather was always a Red Sox fan, but he really enjoyed watching basketball with me. Now a generation later and Im watching with renewed interest. Yes, the game has changed. Some for the worse and some better. Its still my 2nd favorite sport to watch and I always loved to play. (once I get myself back into better shape Ill be playing again)  Its great to get geared up for the green vs. the yellow and purple again... Hopefully, they'll settle it all again in the finals this year.......

  1. I grew up 3 miles door to door from the real Boston Garden. I was born in 1975 and moved from Somerville MA to Berwick PA in 1987. To say I was a fan of the Celtics is an understatement. I literally idolized Larry Bird and I hated Magic Johnson. I didnt know any better its just the way it was. I feel I grew up watching the greatest NBA era of all time. I would go to the Garden with my friends to go to an arcade in the Garden. It was the only arcade around I knew of. On the Green line the Garden is known as North Station. There was access grate on the sidewalk we would open up and climb down to the subway across the street from the Garden and thats how we would get back to Somerville becuase we used all our money up in the arcade. The Boston Celtics are as much a part of my childhood as anything I can remeber. I love the Celtics and everything else about Boston. Its the freatest city I know of.
P.S. Magic Johnson is one of my favorite basketball players ever.
